Enjoy your short hike through American Poetry. You’ll find many pathways at Bartleby.com (http://www.bartleby.com/verse) and The Poetry Foundation (http://poetryfoundation.org). As you complete your Poetry Log, you may stop at any time and work on your Poetry Journal. The latter will serve as pre-writing for your Poetry Analysis.
1. Research your top five selections, then go out and find one of the books from the Independent Reading List. Start reading and give the book a chance–at least thirty pages–to see if it hooks you.
2. Vocabulary 2 Sentence Completion.

We’ll spend the Final Period publishing and perusing each others’ portfolios.
1. Turn in your physical portfolio. Smile. Sigh.
2. Start up (or continue starting up) your student blog. Be patient with the machines.
3. Publish your digital porfolio (at least a fragment of it).
4. Wander around your peers’ blogs. Post positive comments on strengths or qualities you notice. Ask sincere questions.

Once you have completed your portfolio, it is time to publish it. Begin this process by clicking the START UP button above. All should be made clear there. By the end of Monday (for B-dayers) or Tuesday (or A-dayers), everyone should have a paper portfolio in and digital one published. Speaking of digital portfolios, take a look at Mikaila’s.
